Introduced in 1987, Italy’s .IT country-code top-level extension is very popular both locally and in the English-speaking world. The reason is that the domain is a pronoun, which can be used for constructing inventive and appealing domain names – write.it, youcanmake.it and so on. This is a way to construct an easy-to-remember domain name, so that it will be easier for your visitors to return to your website or to share it with coworkers and pals. The domain extension can also be used for a website, which is linked to the information sector as IT is an abbreviation, which is accepted around the world.

Bearing in mind that .IT domains are not registered directly by IT-NIC, the Registry organization that administrates this top-level extension, such a domain can be registered through a third-party domain provider, such as ours. Since there are existing 2nd-level Domains that include names of different territories and localities in Italy reserved for local 3rd-level registrations, new names that include geographical regions of any sort are not allowed on any level to avoid any future confusion. We do not support such third-level domains, though, considering that they can be registered only by locals.
