Dot NAME Domain Name Registrations

Set up in 2001, the .NAME domain name extension is the single TLD planned for personal web pages only. These domains can consist of personal or fictional names, nicknames and/or other labels people are known by. At first, solely third-level registrations were permitted, so if you wanted to reserve john.doe.name, you would have to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were liberalized and second-level registrations were also allowed. Already registered 3rd-level domain names remained running.

Through our company, you can secure your .NAME domain for a period between one and ten years. You will have the chance to alter the WHOIS info, to park your domain, to create Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an active domain to our firm if you have its EPP transfer key from the present registrar firm and we will renew it as soon as the transfer has been finalized. There are no special requirements on who can obtain a .NAME domain, but in order to keep the idea behind its creation alive, the dot NAME Registry may verify who the owner is and if there is no link between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration might be challenged.
